GDOE Job Fair

Another day, another dollar. I am still confused of the process of leaving and reapplying to be a teacher. When I worked at Rev & Tax, if the agency still needed us, they just continued the Limited Time Appointment and created a new Personal Action so that there was no break in pay periods.

The temporary certification we initially receive is good for two years. I do not know why they do not give us the option to stay with school that we are currently with to avoid extra paper work. I feel it is like a process that can be more organized efficiently and not waste a lot of peoples time. Just going to this event and seeing the job openings as well was not making any sense. I am still fairly new to this teaching process considering I hit my 1 year mark in August, and I cannot comprehend that MAXIMIZATION process to be efficient and then I see so many openings. I have seen multiple instances of data that it is cheaper to keep an existing soldier, than train a new one, or how some business models work because of recurring customers.

The day was stressful but with one school year under my belt, the experience was a lot more of a breeze than last year. First off, I did not have much anxiety. Second, when it came to answering interview questions, I did not have to pull any answers out my hat, I developed a sense of what is correct or needed to satisfy that question with confidence. Lastly, I was able to shake everyone's hands and not have sweaty hands myself!

Side note, that's my par standing in the back with the red shirt and my classmates Kai and Arem on the right!

  1. Legally, GDOE has to follow federal and local laws pertaining to "highly qualified" teachers. They could lose lots of $$$. And GDOE is still out of compliance. Parents should take legal action against.
